CLOIP Service Coordinator

Salary Range: $17.45 To $18.86 Hourly

This position is responsible for providing services to adult consumers with an Intellectual or Developmental Disability residing in a State Supported Living Center. This position will office primarily in Taylor county but will also be responsible for working with families and/or legally authorized representatives from other LIDDA’s. The duties include, but are not limited to, contact with consumers, families and/or legally authorized representatives to establish a positive working relationship, provide standardized information/materials on community living options and provide specific details of options and supports to meet service needs, complete a written report detailing the Community Living Options Information Process, submit the written report to the SSLC within the required time frames, attend the person’s annual planning meeting, and coordinate visits to community facilities. This position requires the ability to identify service needs, work under pressure and stressful situations in a professional manner, be thorough in assessment and documentation, identify a variety of community resources to meet the service needs of each individual, and develop a positive relationship with both the Abilene SSLC staff and community service providers. These duties are performed under supervision and in accordance with established policies with some latitude for independent judgment. This position will work cooperatively with service providers in the community, always ensuring the consumer’s rights are respected and observed. Skills in written and oral communication, problem solving, and teamwork are essential. This position reports directly to the Director of IDD Authority Services.

QUALIFICATIONS:

•Must possess a Bachelor’s degree with a major in a social, behavioral, or human service field.

•Experience working with persons with an Intellectual or Developmental Disability is preferred.

•Must possess a current Texas driver’s license and qualify for Center insurance coverage.

•Must be proficient in computer applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

Will be eligible for a one and two year step increase, depending on satisfactory performance.
