RESEARCH & INSIGHTS ASSOCIATE

Position Description: The Research & Insights Associate plays a critical role in advancing data-informed decision-making across Commonpoint’s programs. Reporting to the Data & Insights Coordinator, this position supports the analysis, synthesis, and communication of quantitative and qualitative data across a range of initiatives. This individual will help transform data into actionable insights through collaborative analysis, storytelling, and presentation development, while also contributing to internal research efforts and coaching fellows.

Data Analysis & Synthesis

  • Analyze participant, program, and operational data to identify trends, challenges, and success markers
  • Clean, organize, and validate data sets from surveys, program dashboards, and external sources
  • Support qualitative coding, synthesis, and thematic analysis of open-ended responses and interviews
  • Create summary reports and data briefs that connect data to strategy and program design
  • Build pivot tables, charts, and visuals that make data accessible and actionable

Insight Generation & Communication

  • Translate data into compelling insights for internal and external audiences
  • Co-develop presentations, slide decks, and one-pagers to highlight key findings
  • Help draft narrative summaries that connect impact data to organizational outcomes
  • Support report development for leadership, funders, and program teams
  • Contribute to the creation of dashboards and data stories that promote engagement

Research & Learning Support

  • Conduct literature reviews and environmental scans to support internal research priorities
  • Assist in identifying best practices and benchmarks that inform program improvement
  • Collaborate on internal studies and reflective learning initiatives tied to organizational strategy
  • Help track and organize research sources, summaries, and interviews

Engagement & Collaboration

  • Co-facilitate data debrief meetings with program teams, using findings to drive discussion and action
  • Help build reflective questions and tools to support learning and decision-making
  • Support capacity-building efforts by coaching interns/fellows on data tasks and analysis projects
  • Participate in team check-ins, planning meetings, and cross-functional collaboration

Professional Development & Organizational Engagement

  • Participate in ongoing personal and professional growth activities to build skills and align with evolving department needs.
  • Attend and contribute to departmental trainings, team meetings, and cross-program learning opportunities.
  • Actively engage in the supervision process, including goal-setting, reflection, and feedback.
  • Participate in agency-wide events, initiatives, and committees as assigned, contributing to a culture of learning, equity, and service.
  • Assist with any other projects as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Data Science, Data Management, Social Sciences) or equivalent work experience (with degree in progress).
  • 1-2 years of experience in a supporting or coordinating role, preferably related to project management, data management, or impact assessment.
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in project management and data management tools (e.g., Google Sheets/Slides).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong collaborative skills and the ability to work with cross-functional teams.

JOB DETAILS

  • Schedule: July 2026 to June 2027, Part-Time, 19 Hours Per Week
