ABOUT THE ROLE

The Chief of Staff will report directly to the CEO, ensuring that the company’s strategic priorities are executed efficiently and effectively. The Chief of Staff will serve as a right-hand advisor to the CEO, designing and executing growth initiatives, driving critical projects across the organization, and informing strategic decision-making at the highest level. This role requires a high degree of business acumen, quantitative aptitude, analytical rigor, people management skills, and end-to-end ownership of high-stakes initiatives. Since we are a fast-growing company, you can expect this role to evolve over time. The role will be intense and entrepreneurial in a startup-style environment and include substantial opportunities to take on increasing levels of responsibility and shape our growth and evolution as a company.

The ideal candidate is not afraid to get their hands dirty, has exceptional technical and soft skills, a proven track record in effective cross-functional alignment and program management, and outstanding stakeholder management abilities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, prioritize, and execute critical growth and optimization initiatives for the business.
  • Build a deep, nuanced understanding of the energy infrastructure and data center markets, identify key market dynamics and trends, and understand business differentiators.
  • Serve as a trusted partner to the CEO by generating and delivering rigorous quantitative and qualitative insights to drive business strategy and decision-making.
  • Participate in or lead key meetings with internal and external stakeholders with or on behalf of the CEO, shaping program design and execution and ensuring that initiatives are executed to the highest standard.
  • Align and manage internal and external stakeholders across special projects ranging from cross-functional initiatives to executive-specific needs.
  • Produce materials for internal and external stakeholders, including memos, presentations, and materials for Board of Director meetings.
  • Collaborate with the broader leadership team to develop organizational OKRs, ensuring effective communication of objectives, accountability tracking against objectives, and effective presentation of progress.
  • Partner with the CFO to execute organizational planning and budgeting initiatives.
  • Monitor and assess organizational performance, diagnosing areas of improvement and offer well-communicated insights and solutions.
  • Identify opportunities to train team members, elevate work products, and enhance processes, systems, and tools to drive greater impact and efficiency across the organization.
  • And other duties as assigned.

ABOUT YOU

  • This role is unique, and we are open to considering candidates with 5+ years of experience in highly strategic, analytical, or operational roles such as the following:
    • Pre- and post-MBA role at a top-tier strategy consulting firm or investment bank
    • Investment role at a bulge bracket or leading middle-market private equity firm
    • Market-facing strategy and operations role at a high-growth technology startup
    • Officer in the U.S. Military with demonstrated ability leading teams and supporting more senior officers
    • Legislative assistant or press secretary to a U.S. Senator or Congressman
  • Bachelor’s degree; MBA is a plus but not required.
  • Startup experience is a plus.
  • Agile and organized working style to manage and consistently prioritize key initiatives.
  • Detail-oriented strategic thinker with strong quantitative aptitude and analytical approach to problem-solving
  • Ability to learn quickly and maintain high standards in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Experience with financial modeling.
  • Strong EQ and professionalism as a representative of the CEO.
  • Entrepreneurial and driven: runs through walls to get it done, and a track record of high efficiency/output.
  • Ambition is a big part of the role. We want someone that can grow into a leader at this company, not an assistant.
  • A strong orientation towards outcomes, and a willingness to roll up your sleeves and get the job done. This is not a standard 9-5 role, and a successful candidate will be expected to be available outside of normal working hours.
  • Passionate about energy, data centers, and next generation computing.
  • If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you. To apply, please include your undergraduate GPA and, if applicable, your graduate school test scores on your resume.
