Summary
The Survey Technician is responsible for assisting with field and office surveying activities. The Survey Technician supports licensed surveyors and survey crews by collecting accurate field data, operating surveying equipment, and assisting with survey calculations and documentation. This role may involve both field and office work depending on experience and project needs.
Duties and Responsibilities: The below statements are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work being performed by this position. This is not a complete listing of all responsibilities, duties and/or skills required. Other duties may be assigned.
- Utilize Trimble field equipment (GPS, total station, electronic level, data collectors).
- Knowledge of surveying field practice and procedure.
- Assist survey crews with field data collection for boundary, topographic, construction, and ALTA/NSPS surveys.
- Ability to read and interpret survey plans, plats and drawings.
- Record field notes, sketches, and electronic data clearly and accurately.
- Assist with construction staking, layout, and as-built surveys.
- Locate and mark property corners, benchmarks, and control points.
- Perform basic survey calculations and data processing under supervision.
- Assist with downloading, organizing, and reviewing field data.
Qualifications
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- CST certification (preferred).
- AutoCAD experience (preferred).

Work Environment
- Primarily working in a field setting.
- Works hours are 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.

- Must be able to lift and carry 40 lbs. without help.
- Ability to traverse uneven/muddy/wet/snowy terrain.
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time if needed.
