Bartender Summary: Someone who is responsible for creating and serving both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, food, engaging with customers, maintaining a clean and inviting bar environment, and ensuring a positive guest experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Drink Preparation:
- Serve wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages.
Customer Service:
- Greet customers promptly and courteously.
- Take customer orders and provide menu recommendations.
- Engage with patrons in a friendly and approachable manner.
Bar Maintenance:
- Keep the bar area clean, stocked, and organized.
- Restock supplies, glasses, and napkins.
- Wash and sanitize bar equipment and tools.
Cash Handling:
- Process payments accurately using a POS system.
- Handle cash, credit, and debit card transactions securely.
- Balance the cash register at the end of the shift.
Compliance and Safety:
- Verify age of customers by checking identification.
- Comply with all state and local alcohol serving regulations.
- Manage alcohol consumption responsibly and monitor patrons for signs of intoxication.
Team Collaboration:
- Work with other staff members to ensure timely food and drink service.
- Assist with inventory checks and restocking.
- Participate in training sessions and staff meetings.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a bartender or relevant role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle a fast-paced work environment.
- Basic math skills for cash handling and inventory.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift moderate weight throughout the shift.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
