Work location: Texas Health Kaufman, 850 Ed Hall Drive, Kaufman, TX 75142
Work hours: PRN
Department highlights:
- Outpatient General (mostly orthopedic), 1:1 hour long appointments
- Low acuity Acute Care – Includes ICU
- Growth is a focus in our goals
- Patient surveys weigh heavily – patient satisfaction is a Major focus metric
- Currently 3 Full time PTs, 1 PRN (all experienced)
- Majority Geriatric Population
- Close “Community Culture” both with patient populations and in-house employees
- Culture/personality fit crucial for both us and them
Here’s What You Need
- Bachelor’s Degree Completion of a Physical Therapy program required
- No experience required
- PT – Physical Therapist Texas Physical Therapy License Upon Hire required And
- BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English; Problem solving ability; Ability to teach others; Time management skills; Good interpersonal and customer service skills, Basic leadership skills
What You Will Do
- Performs age appropriate patient assessment and establishes plan of care
- Obtains/verifies physician order for therapy and validates for appropriateness
- Demonstrates competence in the performance of age appropriate patient assessment and individualizes care based on age specific needs.
- Educates patient and family through instruction, demonstration, and/or appropriate handouts in treatment plan, safety issues, home
- Motivates non-compliant or unmotivated patients to participate in therapy
- As required, participates appropriately in departmental safety drills / emergency procedures
- Documents and reports unusual occurrences, on the job injuries, and medical device malfunctioning
