My name is Bruce Warren. I am the assistant station manager at WXPN, a radio station here in Philadelphia. So I'm the manager at the radio station and my primary responsibility is to produce, create content, both for the radio station, the terrestrial radio, all the digital and web content. That entails meeting with the hosts, going over the music they want to present. Going over any special themes that they want to present on the air. Air checking them. After they get done a shift, I like to typically check in the hosts and give them feedback or hear from them how their shift went. One of the things we do at WXPN is we produce this national show called World Cafe. It's syndicated on 212 stations, it's a daily, weekday two-hour show. So we can have a band come in to the radio station on a Monday, record a session, record four or five songs, the host of the show does an interview. We may want to turn that around for the Wednesday broadcast. So we have 24 to 36 hours to sort of post-produce all that content. Occasionally I'll get in there and actually do some post-production on some interviews. I will select music for certain special kinds of programming events that we're doing. But mostly it's to sort of facilitate all the ideas that either myself or members of our team come up with. I probably spend most of my time with the World Cafe staff. What bands are coming in today? What time are they coming in? Do they need back line? Is the host ready? Are the interview questions ready? So I'll sort of spend my time communicating with the team members around all that stuff. I've been handed a lot of different in almost everything we do with the radio station. From program creation, production budgeting, fundraising. We're a public radio station so we do fundraisers. We go on the air. I work really closely with our membership staff on that. I also work with our sales department. And I also work very closely with our marketing department. So I make the cake and our marketing team has to tell people that it tastes really good and hopefully they'll buy it.
