>> My name's Mike Kriman [phonetic] I am the deputy city attorney for the city of Aurora Colorado. Essentially we are in house council to all the various departments of this city, including the Aurora police department, Aurora fire department, the planning department, the finance department, parks and recreation, public works and rural water. So essentially what we do is a variety of things, we draft contracts, we work with our clients on drafting policies, we're there to advise them on various projects, I personally do a lot of transactional work. I also do a lot of land use work. Essentially the, one of the things that the city does of course is manage the growth and envelopment of the city. Sort of figuring out what goes where, and what should move in next door. So that's what our planning staff does, both on the short range basis in dealing with applications from various residential, commercial, and industrial developers. As well as those long range basis, what is this city going to look like in five years, ten years, twenty years down the road. And how can we do the things we need to do now, to get there. I also, as I mentioned, I am the transactional aspects. I work with our finance department, and our urban renewal authority to incentivize the type of development that we want to see. As well as to borrow money and fund public projects. So it's a fairly wide range what I do, and the attorneys that I supervise generally have that responsibility for their, various departments.
